The European Law Students´ Association, ELSA, is an international, independent, non-political and non-profit association for law students and young lawyers. ELSA is represented in 40 countries and more than 36,000 law students from more than 220 universities are members.
In Denmark we have two local groups, ELSA Aarhus and ELSA Copenhagen, they are under the national group, ELSA Denmark, who again is under the international board, who works from Bruxelles, ELSA International.
One of the goals is for ELSA to contribute to law student´s education by offering events, seminars and study visits, that gives that exstra experience, which cannot be reached by the usual education from universities. ELSA contributes to the international spectre of your education, and at the same time ELSA provides you with the largest network of other law students.
At the moment the ELSA network consists of Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Island, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Swizterland, The Netherlands, Hungary, Ukrain, Srbia, Croatia, Slovakia, Montenegro, Malta, Republic of Macedonia, Greece, Slovenia, Russia, Romania, Lithuania, Italy, Ireland, Latvia, Estonia, France, Poland, Spain, Turkie, Kazakstan, Portugal, Bulgaria, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Luxembourg, United Kingdom and the Czech Republic.
ELSA also co-operates with other law student assocations, such as ILSA in North America, ALSA in Asia, ALSA in Australia, ALSA in South Africa and AEJCI on the Ivory Coast.
